Nestled in the foothills of the Ozarks is an expression of love and devotion to the Blessed Mother as beautiful as it is unique. Dedicated to Our Lady of Czestochowa, the Black Madonna Shrine and Grottos was created by a single Franciscan Missionary Brother, Bronislaus Luszcz, over a period of 23 years.

The Shrine is a wonderful contemplative retreat, it is a welcome tonic for the weary soul. Within the Shrine is a special place the Mother’s Sanctuary, where the gentle trickle of the waterfall and pond, brings tranquility to all.

The Mother’s Sanctuary began as an erosion control project. Upon completion of the water diversion project, an opportunity presented itself for us to beautify the area. The landscaping, the creation of the pond and waterfall has become a favorite of many of our visitors.

The allure of the Sanctuary has resulted in several gifts and two Eagle Scout projects to enhance its peace and beauty. The Sanctuary’s walkway, leading to the pond and the scenic overlook, is undergoing repairs and we have decided to add a limited number of engraved plaques. They will be known as “Sanctuary Memorials.”

Here is your opportunity to acknowledge and support the Black Madonna Shrine by adding your name to its future. Purchasing a plaque engraved with your name or that of a friend or loved one, living or deceased, will ensure a permanent remembrance of your support of the Shrine.

If you are having the plaque inscribed for someone as a gift, we can send a card to the recipient informing them of your generosity.

Please let us know to who and where we should mail the card. All plaques will be listed alphabetically in an index so you will be able to locate your plaque.

There are four types of plaques available:

Small Plaque: 6″ x 1.5″, up to 2 lines, donation $60.00

Medium Plaque: 6″ x 3″, up to 4 lines, donation $125.00

Large Plaque: 6″ x 6″, up to 8 lines, donation $250.00

Grande Plaque: 6″ x 10″, up to 16 lines, donation
