These photos of are just some examples of what will be updated with the matching grant. This is why we need your help in refurbishing the grotto statues. Fortunately these statues can be refurbished and painted by volunteers. The process isn’t difficult. The statue needs to be cleaned with a mild soap, then flaking paint is removed carefully. Rough edges or spots are gently sanded by hand, and then the statue is painted. It can be time consuming, but the work is fulfilling. The plan is to have volunteers attend a brief demonstration of preparing and painting of the statues. You will be able to choose the statue you wish to paint, and work may be done on your schedule.
